Denon DJ launch two new media players with the best things about the Prime series media players and make them even better. The SC6000 Prime and SC6000M Prime are two new units that have been announced by Denon DJ alongside two new ‘Smart DJ’ consoles. The Denon PRIME 2 & the Denon PRIME GO.
The Denon PRIME 2 & GO are causing a bit of a stir, Denon are branding them as ‘Smart DJ’ consoles. The Prime 2 seems to be essentially a two channel Prime 4, It has most if not all of the features of the PRIME 4 and Denon assure us of its ‘multicore-powered standalone performance, portability and expressive playback features’. The Prime 2 also has the added ace up its sleeve with its ability to access and play back digital files from multiple media sources, including a built-in internal HDD bay.
The Denon PRIME GO keeps the surprises coming, with an internal rechargeable lithium-ion battery, meaning it can claim to have the ultimate portability.
Both units feature Wi-Fi and Ethernet connectivity, which allows play from music streaming services, such as Beatport, Beatsource, SoundCloud and TIDAL (customers receive a FREE 3-month trial subscription to TIDAL HiFi).
As for the SC6000 and SC6000M professional DJ media players, they both feature a 10.1-inch touchscreen, Wi-Fi streaming, internal HDD drive bay, large 8.5-inch jog-wheels and performance pads with fancy illumination. The refreshed centrepiece X1850 mixer still holds its own with all of the technological wizardry surrounding it and presents an sophisticated creative interface for 4-channel, pro-grade audio DJ mixing.
